Treating clients age preteen through adult, I developed a desire to help those in my community as I was an aid for those with developmental needs. This passion propelled me into further interest in helping people explore their personal strengths and work through struggles in their life which have kept them from living their best lives within the therapy setting. I am honored and in awe as I observe those on their journey to self-awareness and self-acceptance. Within therapy sessions my values are clear: compassion with a non-judgmental stance, empowerment, and belief in your true story.
With 15 years’ experience, I often find use of art such as creative writing and music as means to explore life’s journey and foster solace. The treatment approaches I bring to sessions include CBT therapy components for aid in exploring connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with focus on addressing unhelpful self-talk patterns and how these often impact daily lives. I utilize DBT therapy for aid going beyond self-talk, exploring emotional patterns with focus on identifying, validating, and working through difficult life experience and strengthening of a present focus. I am trauma-informed and additionally aid those in processing effects of trauma with use of CPT and TF-CBT.
