I have always been fascinated by what makes us who we are. Psychology, the study of human behavior and thought, is a passion of mine. When you work with me I will “nerd out” on some of the science behind what makes us tick. I tend to take a collaborative approach with my clients but will be direct when I believe it’s appropriate. When it comes to talking about the “big stuff” I like to take the pool approach, we will start off on the shallow end and work our way deeper.

Some of my focus areas involve concerns such as attention difficulties, disorganization, hyperactivity, defiant behaviors, lack of impulse control, negative thinking, loss of enjoyment, feeling down, and feeling on edge. To help with these impairments, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with techniques from other therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds, but because I am a kid at heart I especially love working with those aged 7-18 years old.

During our first session we will explore what techniques and approaches work best for you. My goal is to create a safe environment for you to be able to be honest with what you are thinking and feeling. I approach the therapeutic relationship with empathy, mutual respect, and a dash of humor.
