For the past 18 years I have worked in helping professions to assist clients in connecting with community resources, development of emotional regulation skills, strengthening decision making skills, and growing as individuals in both community and residential settings. I offer a supportive setting where clients can explore issues in a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental atmosphere. In a typical session, a client can expect me to be present, attentive, and empathetic and be offered a choice of activities, if preferred, such as card games, board games, worksheets, or fidget toys to assist them in developing skills while processing difficult emotions.
I enjoy working with teenagers and young adults as they seek to develop their identity and navigate within our complex society. I am an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community. I also assist adults experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, anger, communication issues, phase of life difficulties, etc.
I utilize a CBT, trauma-informed, approach integrated with other approaches to assist clients in developing an understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and assist in development of skills to reduce unhelpful responses to both external and internal situations.
